Who is the GoolRC T700 mini drone suitable for?
The T700 is aimed at beginners and is also suitable as a drone for kids thanks to its light weight and attachable propeller guards.
It’s easy to control, and thanks to sturdy ABS plastic, it’s also tough enough to survive most crashes unscathed. There is additional protection in case of collisions if you use the attachable rotor guards. These protect the copter from damage and ensure long-lasting flying fun.
Weighing just 55 grams, the GoolRC T700 is extremely lightweight and its dimensions of 14.5 x 13 x 4 cm also make it very compact.
Thanks to the four LEDs in the arms of the drone, it is always easy to see even at dusk. The mini drone is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Outdoors, however, you should preferably only take off when there is no wind, as the drone can otherwise easily drift away due to its low weight.
Control and flight behavior
The drone can be controlled either with the included remote control or exclusively via smartphone. It uses the internal gyroscope of your phone and can be moved in the desired direction by tilting the smartphone.
Takeoff and landing are as simple as pressing a button. Handling in the air is also child’s play. The copter automatically maintains the current altitude (Altitude Hold) and can be flown at three different speeds.
A particularly interesting mode for beginners is the so-called Headless mode. In this mode for simplified control, you don’t have to pay attention to which direction the front and tail of the drone are pointing instantly when you execute a command to change direction. The drone will always fly in the pressed direction in headless mode, no matter how it is currently positioned.
Another highlight of the drone is the option to draw a route on the display in the app using your finger before flying. The drone will then fly this route independently. However, this only works moderately well. The lack of GPS, which is only found in more expensive drones, is noticeable here.
However, the GoolRC T700 is capable of 3D flips in all four directions. Simply press the flip button on the controller and then in any direction.
The camera of the GoolRC T700
The GoolRC T700 has an HD camera that can record videos in 720p. The recordings can be saved on the smartphone and also transferred to it in real time.
Photos are also possible. However, before you can use the camera, you first have to download and install the “GoolRC” app. The app is available for both Android and iOS and can be downloaded for free from the respective app store.
You can attach your smartphone to the remote control using the flip-out mount, allowing you to view the drone’s live FPV image on the display in real time.
The recordings are completely okay for such an inexpensive drone, but of course they do not come close to the quality of an expensive drone with a camera.
