NEHEME NH530 – Mini Drone with Camera & 2 Batteries
The NEHEME NH530 is a robust mini quadcopter with HD camera and the possibility of live image transmission to your own smartphone. The small camera drone comes with two batteries at once for up to 18 minutes of flight time and is suitable for beginners as well as children from about 10 years.
Design and weight
On the outside, the NEHEME NH530 is all black. In order to easily distinguish front and tail in the air, the mini-drone has red propellers at the front and black ones at the back. In addition, you will also find multi-colored LEDs on the four booms, which glow red on the front and green on the rear. The LEDs also help you keep a close eye on the drone even in low-light conditions.
With the optional attachable propeller guards, the NEHEME NH530 measures 17.5 x 17.5 x 4.1 cm, which is still quite compact. Together with the robust workmanship, the guards around the propellers protect the drone from damage in case of collisions with walls or obstacles and ensure a long durability of the drone, which weighs just 58 grams.
Bystanders are also well protected from the fast-spinning rotors by the protective hoops, making the drone suitable as a drone for kids from about 10 years old. Up to the age of 14, however, children should only fly under adult supervision.
Features and flight characteristics
Thanks to various functions for simplified control, the NEHEME NH530 is easily suitable even for absolute beginners. By the way, you can fly the small quadcopter both outdoors and indoors.
Due to its low weight, however, you should only take off outdoors in calm or light winds, otherwise the drone can easily drift away.
Takeoff and landing work simply at the push of a button. In the air, the copter always maintains the current flight altitude thanks to the Altitude Hold function, without having to press the thrust control.
During flight, you have a total of three different speeds to choose from.
In addition to the two control joysticks, the remote control also has various other buttons to trigger the various functions of the NEHEME NH530. On the top of the controller, there is a practical holder in which a smartphone can be securely clamped.
The controller still requires three AAA batteries or rechargeable batteries, which are not included.
By the way, you can also control the NEHEME NH530 without a controller, just with your own smartphone. However, we recommend you to control it by remote control, as it gives you more control over the drone and allows you to give more precise flight commands.
Flight time and range
The flight time of the NEHEME NH530 is about 9 minutes per battery. Since the small drone comes with two batteries from the factory, a total of up to 18 minutes of flight time is possible before the two 3.7 V, 500 mAh batteries need to be recharged.
By the way, the drone informs you about a low battery level by flashing the LEDs.
For charging, simply use the included USB charging cable, which can be connected to a smartphone power adapter, PC, laptop or power bank.
One charge takes about 90 minutes. During charging, an LED on the charging cable lights up and turns off once the battery is fully charged.
The distance at which you can fly the NEHEME NH530 is approximately 87 to 131 yards (80 to 120 meters). For maximum range, we recommend that you fly in a large open area such as a meadow if possible, as obstacles such as buildings or trees can negatively affect the signal quality.
The camera of the NEHEME NH530
The HD camera of the NEHEME NH530 records pictures and videos in 1280 x 720 pixels. The camera is permanently installed in the housing and cannot be adjusted. The drone does not have a gimbal for image stabilization – such a camera mount is generally only found on much more expensive drones with cameras.
Your recordings are stored directly on the smartphone. The NH530 does not have a slot for a microSD card.
The quality of the photos and videos is rather modest, but that is usual for this price range. However, the recordings are sufficient for first experiences with a camera drone.
To view the live FPV image of the drone camera on the smartphone, you first have to download and install the corresponding app, which is linked via QR code in the user manual. The app is available for free download in the respective app store for both Android and iOS devices.
Rollovers, gesture control & headless mode
Even though the NEHEME NH530 does not have a GPS module, it is capable of several automatic flight modes and functions that provide variety in the air.
For example, you can draw a flight path in the app before the flight, which is then flown independently by the drone.
Automatic circular flight around a selected center point (point of interest) is also possible. In this mode, the copter will fly a circle with a diameter of about five meters.
Other flight maneuvers include 3D flips, where you can perform flips in all four directions at the touch of a button, or rotation around its own axis.
Another gimmick of the NEHEME NH530 is the rudimentary gesture control, which lets you take photos and videos by hand gesture. To take a photo, you have to form your fingers into the “Victory” sign. To start or stop a video, just hold your outstretched palm towards the drone. However, both gestures only work if you stand in front of the drone at a distance of about 2 to 3 yards.
In the so-called headless mode of the NEHEME NH530, an even easier control of the drone is available to you. If you normally always have to pay attention to which direction the front of the drone is facing when you want to make a directional change, this is not necessary in headless mode.
The drone will always fly in the pressed direction in this mode, no matter how it is currently oriented in the air.
However, we recommend that you don’t fly in headless mode for too long and also learn the normal controls, as not all drones have headless mode by a long shot.
